Vilnius city tour

 


The capital, Vilnius, is one of the most beautiful towns in Eastern Europe, situated where the Neris and Vilnele rivers meet and surrounded by picturesque wooded hills. Founded in 1323, its unique character and architecture reflects its history at crossroads of the Roman, Byzantine and Eurasians worlds. Vilnius many churches and towers, fortifications, secluded medieval courtyards and narrow streets are a mix of Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Classical styles.

Vilnius Legends

 

Buildings, churches and monasteries of the Old Town of Vilnius are wrapped in many legends and stories. You will have a unique opportunity to reveal breath-taking secrets of the Old Town - The Cathedral, the Cathedral square, a monument to Grand Duke Gediminas, Royal Palace, the Lower Castle, Amber Museum - Gallery, St. Michael‘s Church, St. Anne‘s Church and Bernadine's, St. John‘s church, St. Casimir's Church, Bazillion Gates and much more. Get to know different, mystical and legendary Vilnius.

Tour to Trakai and Kernave

 

TRAKAI                                      KERNAVE

         

 

Trakai is located 28 km west of Vilnius. There are many lakes in the region. Trakai Castle & Museum of 15th century (in the middle of Lake GalvÄ—) is the only insular castle throughout Eastern Europe. Island castle is one of the most visited historical-architectural monuments in Lithuania.

The distinctive feature of Trakai is that the town was built and preserved by people of different nationalities. Here lived communities of Karaites, Tartars, Lithuanians, Russians and Polish.
Kernave is a cradle of Lithuania. It is an ancient capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, situated on the banks of the river Neris. Picturesque hills of Kernave are considered to be a visit card of the Lithuanian tourism and it is mentioned in the list of the world cultural heritage by UNESCO.
